2011 Alabama Assistive Technology Expo and Conference (ALATEC)

Description:The 2011 Alabama Assistive Technology Expo and Conference (ALATEC) will provide an opportunity to see first-hand the latest in assistive technologies, practices and services for persons with disabilities that will increase the ability of individuals to access education, employment, housing, transportation, health care and recreation in the community of choice. The conference will focus on providing professional development and training to increase the knowledge and skills in a variety of areas including, but not limited to: Adult Services, Education/Learning, Visual and Hearing Impairment, Communication, and Physical Accessibility/Mobility. Professionals, persons with disabilities and their family members will have the opportunity to exchange and gather information relative to the accessibility and availability of assistive technology. Educators, rehabilitation counselors, speech and language pathologist, therapists and other service providers are expected to attend this conference.
