Review: Vocally Freedom

Product Information

Manufacturer: G.G. Electronics Ltd.

Reviewed by: Susan Levi from Baltimore , Maryland

Why did you purchase the product?
I do assessments for telecommunications access for people who have disabilities.

How well did the product meet your needs?
The Vocally product is adequate if matched with a telephone that has an excellent microphone and when there is no line noise. Many, if not most phones will not work well with it. It works well with the Reizen Big Button phone, which has speaker phone capabilities - Maxi Aids sells them as a set. It also works with the Ameriphone XL-30, the Krown Starplus 45 - although not always so well with the speakerphone, and the now defunct Ameriphone CL-40 if the amplifier is turned on, also there is a Uniden cordless that works well, but I don't have the model number - it has a large red signal light on the base and Radio Shack sells it under its brand name as well. It does not work with the Ameriphone JV-35 or the Ameriphone RC-200.

Are there specific features of the product that you liked?
It is easy to install and seems to work consistently - if you get it to work with a consumer and a phone it will continue to do so.

Are there specific features of the product that you disliked?
Its too sensitive and doesn't work well enough with enough different phones. It would be great to have a version that could work on every phone in a consumer's home.

Any other comments about the product's performance?
