Review: E-Z Mount

Product Information

Manufacturer: E-Z Mount

Why did you purchase the product?
I have an 18 hand warmblood and it seemed like a good idea to have something to assist me to mount up on the trail.

How well did the product meet your needs?
It doesn't work - it can't work. An English rider's stirrups are length of the leg with a slightly bent knee. When you add 4 - 6 inches to the length of the stirrup you cannot get your leg over the horses back(well maybe if you were a cirque du soleil contortionist - but no average human). By shortening the distance from the ground you have increased the distance your other leg has to stretch which kind of defeats the purpose. I wish I had realized this BEFORE I attempted to use it to get on my 18 hand WB. I didn't manage to mount my horse using the product but I succeed in amusing a number of onlookers with my futile attempts to get on my horse.

Are there specific features of the product that you liked?
I liked the fact that it had a handy dandy carrying case that snaps onto the saddle for easy access and storage.

Are there specific features of the product that you disliked?
Other than the fact that it was useless?

Any other comments about the product's performance?
Did the designers actually try these things out? It only seems like a good idea in theory. If you could lift your legs that high you wouldnt need a booster in the first place.
