Equipment Resale and Exchange Information Center

  1. Assistive Technology Exchange in New England
    The Assistive Technology Exchange in New England provides a web site, getATstuff.com, where individuals can look for or list assistive technology devices for sale or for free. The goal of getATstuff is to help get assistive technology devices that are no longer being used into the hands of people who need and can benefit from them. The Exchange is sponsored by the Connecticut Tech Act Project, MassMATCH AT Tech Act Project, Maine CITE, Assistive Technology in New Hampshire, the Rhode Island Assistive Technology Access Partnership, the Vermont Assistive Technology Program, and the Vermont Parent Information Center.   2. Associated Rollx Vans
    RollX offers new and reconditioned vans available for lease or sale. They outfit them with a variety of adaptations including lifts, raised roofs, and other adaptive equipment. [More Information on Associated Rollx Vans]

  3. Blind Bargains
    Blind Bargains tracks deals and bargains on blindness-related products including deals from online stores, used items, and auctions. The goal is to connect blind people with reasonably-priced equipment. Many items, especially used items, are listed on Ebay and on various Web sites, and the goal is to centralize this information. The site also offer a feature called Blind Search, a customized search engine for dozens of blindness-related websites. [More Information on Blind Bargains]

  4. Connections for the Blind
    Connections for the Blind is an online magazine of classified ads for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Ads can include offers to buy, sell, or trade products or services, including used equipment. Individuals can place their first ad of fifty words or less for free, then pay five dollars for another ad of this size. A sponsored ad (an article of 250 words or less) costs $20. All ads run for one month. Email subcriptions are free. To subscribe, send a blank email with “subscribe” in the subject line to mnoel71@juno.com. It is not necessary to subscribe in order to place an ad. Ads may be dictated by calling the Connections for the Blind phone number from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time, or submitted by mail in braille, large type, cassette, or on diskette.   5. Disabled Dealer Magazine
    Disabled Dealer is a national resource for buying and selling adaptive equipment online and in print. The print magazine is available for 13 regions throughout the U.S., and the site carries ads and links to dealers throughout the country.   6. Godfather Service and Supply Corp
    Godfather Service and Supply Corp services, supports, and updates discontinued Cybex products such as the Kinetron II. Refurbished used models are available. [More Information on Godfather Service and Supply Corp]

  7. IndependenceFirst Mobility Store
    The IndependenceFirst Mobility Store is a nonprofit resale retail program that provides refurbished mobility and medical equipment at an affordable cost. The Mobility Store operates two storefronts in the Greater Milwaukee and Madison areas, and you can find our entire catalog of devices on our website.   8. MEDmarketplace.com
    MEDmarketplace.com is an online marketplace for selling medical equipment and supplies. Hospitals and buying groups can search for, find, and arrange for either money-based or non-monetary exchanges of medical equipment and supplies. MEDmarketplace.com does not directly sell any products; it offers Web-based solutions that serve seller customers through programs designed for listing medical equipment. They provide a dedicated online store (Sell-It! Showcase) where sellers can list anywhere from one to unlimited number of products. MEDmarketplace.com also provides services for broker and refurbisher customers, such as priority access to hospital equipment listings, and first notice of hospital requests for used equipment acquisitions.   9. Miga Solutions Inc.
    Miga.com lists quality used equipment for sale that comes directly from hospitals and manufacturers throughout the United States. Much of the equipment is hospital, therapy, and meducal equipment, but they frequently have listings for assistive equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, ergometers, etc. The site can be browsed by category, or using the search engine to navigate thousands of detailed listings.   10. MobilityVan Sales USA
    MobilityVan Sales USA offers a free classifieds service for vans modified for people with disabilities. Although based in Australia, this site serves the United States and enables drivers with disabilities to place vehicles for sale with highlighted accessible features and modifications.   11. National Christina Foundation
    The Foundation donates recycled computers to organizations, which distribute the computers to people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons. [More Information on National Christina Foundation]

  12. Parts for Carts
    Parts for Carts' mission is to recycle and reuse parts from electric shopping carts, including models from Amigo, Dane and Mart Cart. Replacement parts are available at a lower cost enabling service dealers to stock parts and have a greater inventory available for customers. Most parts are priced 50 percent less than wholesale.   13. Pass It On Center
    The Pass It On Center, as the "National AT Reuse Center," provides technical assistance to organizations engaged in or planning to engage in assistive product reuse or recycling. The Center's website offers links to a variety of organizations involved in recycling assistive technology devices throughout the U.S. The Pass It On Center also sponsors events and supports other initiatives to promote A.T. reuse.     Silver Cross has a network of distributors covering almost all of the U.S., Canada and England for new and used assistive products in several categories - stair lifts; ceiling lifts; home residential elevators; incline wheelchair lifts; patient lifts; porch and vertical wheelchair lifts; bath lifts; scooter lifts; electric scooters; electric wheelchairs; lift chairs; and hospital beds.     If you are interested in learning more about the recycling, refurbishing, and redistribution of assistive technology, you might want to check out Discovering Hidden Resources. The RESNA Technical Assistance Project produced this publication in the hopes of bolstering existing programs and fostering the creation of new ones.
