Microphone picks up the signal from a smoke alarm in the magnitude of 70 decibels (frequency range of 600 HZ to 3500 HZ) and activates an electronic component that turns on the light. Only operable during hours of darkness. Since 70 decibels are common to some daytime sounds (vacuum, radio, etc.) a photoelectric cell deactivates the circuit during daytime to avoid undesired operation. Sound sensoring circuit is automatically re-armed by the photoelectric cell. Light fixture control must always be in the "no" position. Special universal adapter permits setting to be maintained regardless of type of switch (rotary or pushbutton, in the socket, lampbase or line cord). Plugs into 110 volt AC outlet, plug light or vibrator into unit. Adjust sensitivity level to detect sound. Adjust delay to control how long activating sound must continue before lamp will flash. Adjust flash rate dial to select a pulsed or constant alerting signal. Measures 6 by 3.5 by 1.75 inches in gray plastic case. Four foot cord. Options include remote receiver (number 727) for activation of remote lights; remote microphone (number 729) for use when signaler cannot be close enough to activating sound, doorbell pick up wire (number 730) for direct connection to doorbell.
