PRE-DICT-ATE 1.1
--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 4/2003) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Pre-Dict-ate 1.1 is a voice input text editor combined with a word prediction program designed to allow people with disabilities to process text on a computer using voice recognition. It is a speaker-dependent system which allows several voice files to be individually recorded, allowing multiple users on the same computer; voice files are specific to each user, and each command is specifically trained. A typical voice training session takes 30 minutes. Several common words are included in voice recognition files; simply speaking these words will cause them to be typed. The voice recognition file may be expanded by the user, thus building a library of common words and phrases. Words not contained in the voice recognition file are typed via the Telepathic word prediction program (see separate entry). Speaking a word from the international alphabet causes the initial letter of that word to be typed; once the letter is typed, the word prediction program automatically lists the seven most common words beginning with that letter found in its dictionary. Speaking the number of a listed word will cause that word to be typed. If the desired word does not appear on the list, speaking international words for subsequent letters will produce updated selection lists. Should the entire word be completely typed, the program automatically learns it for future use. Common keyboard functions such as space, return, and capitalize are included in the Pre-Dict-ate spoken commands. These commands are appended to the language files of the program, allowing Pre-Dict-ate commands to be accessed from within other word processors. The Pre-Dict-ate package includes Telepathic software and system files, dictionaries and language files, voice recognition software and hardware, a microphone, and complete set-up and reference documentation. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: System 6.08 or later; hard drive; 2 MB RAM (4 MB recommended).
