    The CHORUS Universal Receiver is a personal amplification and receiver system for FM, infrared, induction loop, radio, direct audio input, and microphone input for individuals with a hearing impairment. CHORUS works with almost any make or model transmitter including its own line of FM, infrared and loop system transmitters.     The Deluxe Alarm Clock is a digital alarm clock designed to be used with a lamp or vibrator by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.     The Dialogue VCO is a text telephone universally designed to be used by individuals with and without hearing disabilities. This phone features a hearing-aid compatible amplifier and automatic tone enhancement which amplifies the incoming voice up to 30 decibels. For people with severe hearing loss or who are deaf, Voice Carry Over (VCO) calls can be made through the local toll-free relay service. VCO enables the user speak in the normal fashion while displaying incoming messages as text on the screen.     The Dialogue XL-30, model 76572, is an amplified telephone designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. The handset is hearing aid compatible and features an Anti-Feedback Filter (AFF) that eliminates feedback and distortion and a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that minimizes unwanted background noise. The Frequency Screening Tones (FST) enables users to identify the frequency range where most amplification is needed. The Tone Amplification Selector allows for selecting extra amplification on a range of sound frequencies for best speech understanding and optimum clarity.     Direct Ear is a personal amplification system designed for home or public use in specially equipped facilities such as theaters or places of worship by individuals with hearing disabilities.     The First Alert Smoke Detector, model SA100S, is a smoke alarm designed for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. This detector features a bright 177 candela strobe light that flashes 60 times per minute to wake people who cannot hear audible alarms. Other standard features include a test button to check all detector and strobe functions and an 85 decibel audible alarm.     The GE Amplified Cordless Phone for Mild Hearing Loss, model 27906GE1, is an amplified large- button cordless telephone designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing or have low vision. Hearing-related features include audio boost sound adjustment, volume control for incoming calls, an oversized ear seal, hearing aid compatibility, and ringer volume control. The phone has call-waiting and caller identification (ID) with a 40-name and number memory. The backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) shows the name and number of incoming calls even when the user is on another call. The memory holds information for the most recent 40 calls; the user can scroll through the list of incoming calls and delete those not wanted. Other features of this 2.4 GHz-frequency cordless phone include a redial button, backlit keypad, and a line in use indicator. The phone can sit on a flat surface or be hung on a wall.   22. GENTEX 710CS & 710CSW

    The Gentex 710CS is a photoelectric single station smoke detector for use where audible and visual alarms are required. This model features a 90 decibel (db) solid state piezo signal and a strobe light with red "FIRE" lettering. The 710CS may be placed in a main room with a remote receiver in another room. The strobe on the receiver will flash when the main detector flashes. It utilizes a pulsing LED light source and a photodiode sensor in a fully screened sensing chamber to detect smoke. The high intensity strobe is 120 candela and flashes 60-90 times per minute. The operating voltage is 120 VAC, 60 Hz and the operating current is 0.300 amps. Nominal sensitivity of smoke detection is 2.0% obscuration. Both models are designed to be hardwired to the building electrical system. Model 710CS is designed for ceiling mounting and model 710CSW is designed for wall mounting. OPTION: Audible only detector, 7100F, is available. It must be used with a remote strobe receiver.   23. GENTEX 710LS

    The Gentex 710LS is a portable photoelectric smoke alarm with a nine foot linecord, a strobe light with red "FIRE" lettering and a 90db audible signal. Each detector has a nominal sensitivity of 2.5%; a three position test knob that tests the least sensitive and most sensitive smoke settings; and a solid state LED condition indicator. It utilizes a pulsing LED light source and a photodiode sensor in a fully screened sensing chamber to detect smoke. The high intensity strobe is 120 candela and flashes 60-90 times per minute.     The Global Door Beacon, model 303, is a flashing light door signal designed to alert people with hearing disabilities to knocks on doors. The portable device emits multiple flashes of light per knock. This device can be permanently attached to a door using the included screw or Velcro or it can be used as a portable device and moved from room to room. The included hanging bracket enables the unit to be hung over any door. POWER: Uses one 9-volt battery.

  25. HEARING AMPLIFICATION HANDSET (MODELS G6 & K6)

    Amplifying handset has an adjusting wheel which increases the volume of the voice being received by as much as 30 percent. Plugs into any modular telephone. Handsets are available in traditional (G6); contemporary, or square, (K6); or Merlin (R6) style models.

  26. HEARING HELPER PERSONAL FM SYSTEM (MODELS 100E & 200E)

    The HEARING HELPER Personal FM System is a wireless listening system for individuals who are hard of hearing. It can be used in the classroom, watching TV, riding in a car, meetings and conferences, coaching or employee training. The system 200 features the T16-72E6 Transmitter and the R16-72E6 Receiver. The Receiver features an external microphone with a separate volume control to pick up nearby sounds or the wearer's voice. The system includes two rechargeable 6V batteries and chargers, belt clip cases, storage case, microphone, and earphone.

  27. INTELE-MODEM

    The Intele-Modem is an external modem that automatically converts ASCII code to Baudot code, enabling the user to talk to various types of TDDs and computers and to use a personal computer (PC) as a telecommunication device. Intele-Modem connects directly to the phone line and works with standard communication software (AT/Hayes compatible command set) and BBS (bulletin board system) software. The unit automatically detects ASCII and Baudot calls; lights on the front panel indicate the current operating mode and line status. The modem has a built-in speaker with volume control for audio monitoring. Visual call progress monitoring indicates dial tone, ringing, or busy signal. Intele-Modem works with tone or pulse dialing, and automatic or manual telephone answering. A telephone cord is included.   28. KNOCK SENSOR (Models KTS1, 3240-L, & 3240-T)

    The Knock Sensor is a flashing light signal designed to indicate door knocking for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The system attaches to the door with Velcro or with a door bracket (model KTS1) and is sensitive to vibrations. It signals when someone is knocking on the door by flashing a light that shuts off automatically after five seconds. The system has a two-position sensitivty setting and will not pick up outside sounds. Model 3240-L is designed to be used alone while model 3240-T is designed to be used with Silent Call Receivers (see separate entries). OPTIONS: Clip-on doorbell bracket.   29. LARGE VISUAL DISPLAY

    The Large Visual Display is a large print display accessory for the Superprint 100-D, 4425, and 4420 (sold separately; see separate entries) telecommunication device for the deaf (TDD or TT) by Ultratec. The characters on the large display are 10 times larger than characters on a standard TDD display and are displayed in bold type. TDD conversations are shown simultaneously on the TDD display and on the large visual display. The display connects to the Superprint 100-D, the Superprint 4225, or Superprint 4420 with an external printer port. The Superprint 100-D has special software to connect the Large Visual Display directly to the TTY port, so it does not support printing capabilities. The Superprint 4420 can be purchased with an external port that enables connection of the display or an external printer while retaining the use of the built-in printer. OPTIONS: Visual Display Stand. WARRANTY: One year limited.

    The Microloop II is an audio loop amplification system designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. Place the loop wire around the listening area to transmit and amplify speech signals to the "T" coil switch found on many hearing aids. Designed for use in a conference or classroom setting, the system includes loop wire on a wind up spool, a clip on microphone for the primary speaker, and a carrying case. The Microloop II FM performs the same function but includes a wireless microphone. OPTIONS: A special receiver for individuals without hearing aids or "T" switches and an auto kit are available. DIMENSIONS: The loop is 90 feet long and the microphone wire is 10 feet long. WARRANTY: One year limited.

  31. MINICOM IV

    The Minicom IV is a text telephone (TT) or telecommunication device for the deaf (TDD). The device features an easy-touch 43-key, 4-row keyboard; a bright, tilted 20-character display; and a printer port for connecting to an external printer (not included). This text telephone also offers Turbo Code to provide greater user control over the speed and pace of conversations and an Auto ID feature to automatically notify parties being called that a text telephone is being used. POWER: Comes with an AC adapter and rechargeable batteries. OPTIONS: Dust cover and soft carrying case. WARRANTY: One year limited warranty.   32. MINIPRINT 220 & 225

    The Miniprint 220 and 225 are basic printing text telephones or telecommunication devices for the deaf. Both devices feature Turbo Code which enables a more natural conversational speed and interrupt capability. Other standard features include Auto ID which alerts hearing people to an incoming TTY call, a built-in 24-character printer, three selectable print sizes, and a sticky key feature for single- handed typing. The Miniprint 225 also has a computer- style keyboard with "GA" and "SK" keys and locator keys on the "home" row for touch typists. OPTIONS: A dust cover and a soft carrying case.   33. MINIPRINT 420 & 425

    The Miniprint 420 and 425 are basic printing text telephones or telecommunication devices for the deaf. Both devices feature Turbo Code, which enables more natural cinversational speed and interrupt capabilities. Other features include Auto ID, which notifies hearing persons of an incoming TTY calls; built in 24-character printers; three selectable print sizes; and a sticky key function for single-handed typing. Both models also feature direct connection, with two telephone jacks and a pre-programmed auto-answer message. While in direct connect mode, a built-in ring flasher indicates an incoming call. The Miniprint 420 and 425 also offer a selectable number of rings for auto-answer, keyboard dialing and follow on dialing, tone or pulse dial, and call progress monitor indicating the ringing/or busy status of the call.     The Omni page and the Omni Page II are paging systems designed for person-to-person or device-to-person communication for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. It allows an individual to communicate with another individual or to be alerted to a signal from an electronic device, such as a smoke detector, telephone, sound monitor, or doorbell. The system is comprised of three units: a receiver, a transmitter, and a charger. The wireless receiver unit attaches easily to a belt or pocket and sends an audible sound or vibration to summon the wearer when a transmitter is activated. The receiver is notified of a "page" from one of the optional transmitters sent by another person, either a pendant pager transmitter, body activated switch, or a hand-held pager transmitter. The system is completely wireless and able to monitor signals up to 100 feet away. The receiver and the transmitters are sold separately. The Omni Page II is designed for use in the commercial/industrial setting. In this case the receiver unit can be programmed to accept up to ten different coded messages. The message pad, mounted at the service station, is used by the manager to relat a job command to the person wearing the receiver unit.     The Uniphone 1140 is a a combination text telephone (TT or telecommunications device for the deaf, TTY/TDD) and standard telephone with voice carry over designed to enable persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and hearing individuals to use the same telephone. The unit is compact and features a display so that persons with hearing disabilities but enough speech to converse can speak directly to the party they are calling and read the responses as text. Other features include a standard hearing-aid compatible handset with volume control (20 decibel gain); adjustable ringer volume; hearing aid compatible handset; Turbo Code, which allows real time transmissions and interruptions; and Auto ID, which automatically sends signals to alert people to an incoming TT call. Other standard features include memory for storing conversations and auto answer messages, 10 speed dial buttons, emergency dialing keys, programmable auto answer message, Voice Carry Over (VCO) request, a TTY on/off switch, and a built in ring flasher to indicate incoming calls and interruptions. The four-row, 52-key keyboard features a QWERTY layout. Special keys include Dial, Menu, and Volume keys, as well as arrow keys to select functions and reveiw conversations. It also has sticky-key for single handed typing. The conversation is displayed on a 48-character LCD display with contrast control and backlight.   70. VIBRA-CALL SYSTEM

    Vibra-Call is a telephone and doorbell signal system designed to alert deaf or deaf-blind persons to a variety of audio household stimuli. The user wears a small receiver unit that vibrates in response to a signal from any of several transmitters around the house or workplace. The user then presses each of the four push-button switches on the top panel of the receiver; this causes the receiver to revibrate to indicate which transmitter was activated. The system can be used with one receiver and as many transmitters as desired. OPTIONS: Components may also be purchased separately, including a smoke detector, a doorbell transmitter, a telephone transmitter, a rechargeable sound monitor, a pager transmitter for signalling between persons, and a pillow vibrator. A Sleep Alert charger unit (see separate entry) is also available. POWER: Uses one rechargeable 9 volt battery (included). DIMENSIONS: 5 x 1.5 x 2.5 inches. WEIGHT: 7 ounces. WARRANTY: Five years.

  71. WATCHMAN SIGNALING SYSTEM

    The Watchman Signaling System is a signal system designed to indicate inportant sounds for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Watchman Phone Master directly connects to the phone line and a lamp and flashes the lamp on and off when the telephone rings. The Doorbell Master monitors the doorbell and can be connected with or without an existing doorbell. The Sound Master alerts the user to a baby's cry, an alarm clock or any other important sound. A lamp on-off switch allows the lamp to be plugged directly into the Watchman. The Doorbell and Sound Masters offer adjustable signal lamp flash rates, adjustable sound-signal control, and page switches for paging people throughout the home. The Watchman Receiver flashes signal lamps in other rooms whenever any Master unit responds. OPTIONS: A doorbell button is available for homes without existing doorbells.   72. WIRELESS FM SPEAKER SYSTEM (MODEL SFM311S)

    The Wireless FM Speaker System, model SFM311S, is a 2-frequency FM amplification system designed to provide sound enhancement to television viewing, conversation, and music and dancing, and other in-home listening situations. The system includes two transmitters, a base transmitter to be placed near the sound source, and a pickup microphone that can be attached to the speaker of the television, radio, etc. The pickup microphone comes with cables for line-input connection to the audio source. RECEIVERS: The system also comes with two types of receivers. One is a battery-operated headphone receiver for personal listening; the other is a wireless remote speaker equipped with a volume control and battery saver circuit which automatically puts the speaker in a standby mode when there is no signal occurring. The wireless remote speaker allows the listener to hear environmental sounds in addition to the amplified sound. TRANSMISSION RANGE: Approximately 150 feet.
