  1. ACCUPOINT Picture of ACCUPOINT

AccuPoint is a mouse emulator and computer cursor control interface designed for use by individuals with fine motor control or upper extremity disabilities or amputation, cerebral palsy, or spinal cord injury. While distinguishing tremors from intentional movements, this movement tracking system enables the user to control the mouse and type letters with movements ranging from very small to very large. The unit mounts on the back of the user's computer display and plugs into the computer with a USB cord. A small tripod is included, and a plastic pocket for easily mounting AccuPoint to a laptop is also included. A small plastic reflector that works with the unit is attached to the user's forehead or another body part using double sided tape. A software suite is included for installation on the computer. To select items on the computer screen, the user points to the desired spot and holds his or her head still (a process called "dwell"). The user can set the dwell time, and dwell can be turned on and off to prevent inadvertent clicking. If the user prefers switch input to dwelling, there are two programmable switch ports on the back panel of AccuPoint for inputting left and right mouse clicks via the user’s favorite switch. OPTIONS: Complete AccuPoint System with tablet kiosk slate computer (PC i440T) with touch screen and one year warranty, Windows 7 operating system, quick release VESA mount with port replicator, Ergotron LX desk mount, AccuPoint Absolute Tracking System with one year warranty, AccuPoint software suite with word prediction, OpenOffice Software Suite, and folding USB keyboard.

  2. MINI-KEYBOARD WITH KEYGUARD (MODEL MKK-100) Picture of MINI-KEYBOARD WITH KEYGUARD (MODEL MKK-100)

The Mini-Keyboard with Keyguard, model MKK-100, is a wireless mini keyboard designed for use by individuals who type with a single finger or a pointer. This keyboard connects to a computer using a wireless Bluetooth connection. The small size of the moisture-resistant keyboard reduces the distance the user has to reach to access all the keys. The keyguard fits between the keys and prevents simultaneously striking two keys next to each other. The keyguard is slightly taller than the keys to allow the user to rest hand on the keyguard without activating keys. The combination of the smaller keyboard with a keyguard reduces the number of mistakes due to hitting two keys at the same time. OPTIONS: Adjustable angle stand; Bluetooth dongle for computers that do not support Bluetooth and have a USB port. POWER: Uses rechargeable battery that charges using a standard USB port. COMPATIBILITY: The keyboard works with any device that accepts a Bluetooth keyboard, including many Windows and Apple Macintosh computers, as well as iPads, Android or Windows 8 tablets, iPhones, and smartphones. DIMENSIONS (HxW): 5.75 x 9 inches.

The laser can also allow the user to communicate with minimal movement by pointing the light at a letter board or images. Using a dwell function or a secondary switch, the user can write out messages or access recorded speech. With a call button or control switch, the pointer can also be used to summon a caregiver or as an environmental control. 5. VOICE SWITCH Picture of VOICE SWITCH

The Voice Switch is a sound-based control switch designed for use by individuals with neurological or severe physical disabilities, and a sound production training device designed for use by individuals with speech disabilities. This device provides a switch closure to control connected assistive technology in response to sound production, and it can be used to train sound production capability by persons with speech disabilities, including persons who have limited ability to produce sounds with the larynx or voice box because of cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, brainstem stroke, or nerve damage due to injury or surgery. The device comes in a plastic case and all controls are on the front panel, while the input and output ports are located on the top panel. Two knobs on the top panel enable the user to set the sound duration and volume required to activate the output relay. The third knob adjusts the volume of the auditory feedback to the user indicating that a sound has met the input requirements. The output relay is activated for 0.1 second (100 milliseconds). POWER: Uses two double-A batteries. DIMENSIONS: 4.5 x 2.5 x 0.75 inches. WEIGHT: Less than one pound.

  6. WORDPSYCHIC (MODEL WPS-100) Picture of WORDPSYCHIC (MODEL WPS-100)

WordPsychic, model WPS-100, is a word prediction program designed for use by individuals with fine motor, neurological, or upper extremity disabilities. This software reduces the amount of typing required to enter text into any Windows-based program. It does this by predicting the word the user is typing as the user types. As each new letter is entered, a new list of predicted words is displayed. Clicking on a word in the prediction list or typing its number in the upper right corner causes the word to be inserted into the sentence automatically. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows XP, VISTA, or Windows 7 operating systems.
