   The ADL Lap Tray, model NC94114, is a lapboard designed to provide writing, eating, and activity space for people who use wheelchairs. The tray's surface is impregnated with melamine, making it waterproof and easy to clean. The user secures a syringe in the rectangular base with the plunger pushed completely in the syringe. Then the T-bar with the vial(s) is fastened to the base so that the needle is inserted into a vial. The user then rotates a dial on the base to withdraw the plunger, drawing insulin into the syringe. The dial make a single click for each unit of insulin drawn, and it can measure up to 50 units. The dial is marked with raised plus and minus signs to indicate which way to movie it to increase or decrease the dosage. The unit uses a B-D Lo-dose half cc insulin syringe. 23. WINSFORD FEEDER

    The Winsford Feeder is a height-adjustable powered feeder designed to enable individuals with quadriplegia or other upper extremity disabilities to independently feed themselves soup or any solid food that can be cut into small enough pieces . The height adjustment is accomplished using the large knob on the device. The unit includes a carrying case, a Corelle dinner-sized plate, a soup/cereal bowl, pusher, chin switch, glass holder, turntable, shelf, plug-in rocker switch, and drip pan. To eat from the dinner plate, the user pushes the switch to the left, food onto the spoon and brings the food up to the mouth. Repeating that process returns the spoon to the plate. Pushing the switch to the right roatates the plate to move food in front of the pusher to load the spoon. As the spoon descends, it swings down to a vertical position so the tip meets the plate near the rim. The tip of the spoon slides along the plate under the food and stops at an angle to the plate. When the switch is pressed to the left, the pusher loads more food on the spoon. The arm then continues downward until the spoon bowl is horizontal. The spoon is locked in that position to retain food during the upward motion. If the spoon is filled with too much food, the user may return it to the plate, empty it, and refill it. To use the bowl, the plate and the pusher are removed and the turntable, shelf, bowl, and drip pan are installed. The feeding process is then similar to that used with solid food.
