TACK-TILES BRAILLE SYSTEMS
TACK-TILES Braille Systems are a Braille game and instruction kit designed to acquaint children who are blind with raised dot Braille letters within the environment of play. Designed to fit and work like standard snap-together toy building blocks, children can create buildings, figures, cars, etc. while learning Braille. The pieces can be endlessly rearranged during the course of a lesson, encouraging creativity and interest. Because the blocks correspond with standard toy blocks, accessories and other toy pieces such as people, doors, etc. (available at toy stores) may be added to expand learning and play possibilities. Each TACK-TILES block features the Braille symbol for a specific letter, number, punctuation mark, or other symbol on its top, with the corresponding printed symbol on the ends. Each set includes 320 TACK-TILES, four worksheet-sized slates, four palm-sized slates, and a carrying case. Literary Braille sets include five each of all 63 dot combinations, plus five blanks. Non-literary sets also include 320 TACK-TILES in assortments designed to assure adequate supplies of the characters most important to lesson plans. OPTIONS: English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian literary Braille, Nemeth mathematics code, music notation, and computer Braille code sets. DIMENSIONS: The worksheet-sheet sized slates are 10 x 15 inches and the palm-sized slates are 5 x 7 inches. COLOR: Blocks come in an assortment of blue, yellow, red, and white. Slates come in grey and white.
