    ------- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: The Minnesota Ramp Project is designed to provide consumers with disabilities with the tools necessary to maintain their independence by having a wooden modular ramp or long tread, low rise stairs constructed for their homes using volunteer labor under the supervision of a professional. The project has produced a complete manual entitled "How to Build Ramps for Home Access" which discusses the various requirements and considerations for constructing modular ramps. The 63-page manual includes instructions, diagrams, and blueprints for constructing modular ramps and long tread, low rise stairs. Also available is a video called "Tips for Building Modular Ramps & Steps" in VCR or DVD format.
