These three software programs make up Attainment's Dollar and Cents Software Series. The First Money program, Level I, teaches the value of money to beginners and to those who do not read. It teaches money names and the concepts of equal value and what something is worth. Voice prompts and graphic prompts lead students through each segment, with each segment offering display or multiple choice options. Spending Money, Level II, a more advanced program, simulates making purchases and using the correct combinations of bills and/or coins. Students also learn comparison shopping at the "Money Mall" using a shopping list and computer cash. Making Change, Level III in the series, is the most advanced where users function like any store clerk by entering purchases and returning change.     The Wiggly Giggly Ball is a foam ball designed for use by children with upper extremity, neurological, and sensory disabilities. This ball makes unpredictable wiggling motions and sound tubes inside the ball produce giggling sounds at the slightest movement. Dark indentations that contrast with the rest of the ball's surface aid in grasping and visual tracking. DIMENSIONS: 10 inches in diameter or 7 inches in diameter. COLOR: Assorted designs.

    Wikki Stix are an eye hand coordination activity designed for use by children with neurological and physical disabilities. Wikki Stix can also function as tactile, raised-line markers for individuals who are blind or have low vision. These non-toxic wax-coated strands can be bent and manipulated to form designs, figures, etc. Wikki Stix are available in a primary color set (48 strands), a rainbow set (24 strands), and a neon color set (48 strands); each set is sold separately. Also available are single-color packs of 36 strands. OPTIONS: The Wikki Stix Hands-On Learning Activity Guide. COLOR: Single-color packs are available in 10 colors.

    Winkel is an educational toy designed to develop hand-eye coordination for very young children. This toy is made up of numerous interlocking rings to form a sphere. The toy is safe for chewing, encourages grasping, and rattles for additional stimulation.

  196. WISP 2000

    WISP 2000 is a control switch interface designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This wireless device has built-in sip/puff capability and it can be used with any other ability switch connected to the built-in three millimeter stero jack to create wireless control. This switch can transmit two switch closures, and can be used as a remote switch interface for single switch scanning software or for any device controlled by a single or dual switch. WISP 2000 can also be used to perform mouse clicks with the Tracker (see separate entry). The switch has a range of 20 feet. POWER: Uses one 9-volt battery. DIMENSIONS: The transmitter is 4.25 x 2.4 x 0.9 inches. The receiver is 4.25 x 2.6 x 1.1 inches. WEIGHT: The combined weight is 4 ounces.

    The Woogle is an eye hand coordination activity designed for very young children with physical, neurological, visual, and cognitive disabilities. This lightweight toy is twistable and shakable and comprises a series of wooden beads with a large wooden disk at each end and wooden rings that move over the beads between the disks.

  198. WORDWISE SOFTWARE SERIES

    WordWise Software Series is a collection of vocabulary enhancement programs designed to combine words, pictures and two-way speech for individuals who have difficulty with communication. The programs have realistic and contemporary graphics that stress everyday vocabulary. The series is broken up into the six programs featuring 80 words a piece: People, Community, House, Outdoor, Actions, and Adjectives. Other features include attractive art, voice recording, human quality speech, and quiz, presentation and printout options. The programs are available as a complete package or separately. For students with a physical disability, this software is TouchWindow (see separate entry) accessible. COMPATIBILITY: Macintosh. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Macintosh System 7, color monitor. Optional: TouchWindow, printer.

  199. WORDWISE STICKER SET

    WordWise Sticker Set are symbolic language pictures designed for use with communication boards and books or to teach everyday vocabulary for individuals with cognitive disabilities. The stickers in this package duplicate the pictures found in the WordWise Language Cards and the WordWise Master Cards (see separate entries). The stickers, with their realistic illustrations, may be used to create communication board and book layouts, flash cards, illustrated worksheets, and student word lists. The package includes 1176 stickers (two each of 588 illustrations). DIMENSIONS: Each sticker is one-inch square.

  200. WRAPSTERS Picture of WRAPSTERS

    Wrapsters are posable stuffed animals designed for children with limited grasping ability or those working toward two-handed corrdinated activity. These toys have textured, snake-like bodies that can be wrapped around objects or around a shoulder, an arm, or a leg. They are available in a variety of characters and each includes a tag with its name and background information.

  201. WRITE:OUTLOUD

    Write: Outloud is a voice output word processor program designed to speak letters, words, sentences and paragraphs in order to enhance user writing quality for children with low vision or severe physical or cognitive disabilities. This program reads each word as it is typed for consistent auditory feedback, and it can also reads any electronic text, enabling students tp research and present reports. Included imported graphics can also be used to prompt and support writing with the "get picture button," and on-screen tools enable the user to work without using menus. On-screen highlighting as the text is read enables the student to connect the spoken words with the written words. As the program speaks letters, words, and sentences, students can self-correct their own work. The built-in talking Franklin Dictionary and Homonym Checker recognizes phonetic spelling of irregular words and homonyms ansd easily confused words. Concise definitioons of the homonyms or confused words are provided to enable the user to select the correct word. The program also offers basic formating capabilities such as centering, indenting, and left or right text alignment. COMPATIBILITY: CD-ROM with versions for use on Macintosh and IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The Macintosh version requires Macintosh Operating System 7.5.3 or higher, a 68030 or better processor, a minimum of 16 megabytes (MB) RAM, a minimum of 20 MB hard drive space, and a CD-ROM drive. The IBM compatible version requires Windows 95, a Pentium/100 processor or better, a minimum of 16 MB RAM, a minimum of 20 MB hard drive space, a Sound Blaster or compatible sound card, and a CD-ROM drive.

  202. YADDA PLAYBALL

    The Yadda Playball is an inflatable, textured ball designed for use by individuals with physical, neurological, and visual disabilities. This ball can be kicked, thrown, bounced, grabbed or squeezed; the texture aids in grasping and trowing and the bright colors aid in visual tracking. DIMENSIONS: Available in 10 or 15 inches in diameter. COLOR: Assorted.
