SCANACAN PLUS DELUXE, SCANACAN FOR WINDOWS DELUXE, SCANACAN PROFESSIONAL DELUXE, & SCANACAN PROFESSIONAL ELITE (MODELS SW28003, SW28005, SW28006, & SW28008)
Scanacan Plus Deluxe, Scanacan for Windows Deluxe, Scanacan Professional Deluxe, and Scanacan Professional Elite are voice output bar code reader systems designed for persons who are blind or have low vision. All four systems come with databases of 84,000 grocery and 62,000 hardware items, and if a bar-coded item is in one of these databases the user can identify it simply by passing a bar code scanner within a short distance of the item's bar code. Users can create new databases with entries for other items. Each system comes with Scanacan software on CD-ROM, the grocery and hardware databases, a JAWS for Windows (see separate entry) script set, a Metrologic Omni-Directional Laser Wedge Bar Code Scanner, a strut and bracket for wall mounting, 100 pre-printed bar code labels, and instructions in print, on CD-ROM, and on cassette. Scanacan Plus, model SW28003, and Scanacan for Windows, model SW28005, are primarily designed for home use. The Scanacan Professional software, which comes with models SW28006 and SW28008, is designed for store owners who are blind or have low vision, and provides support for inventory and point-of-sales operations. The Scanacan Professional Elite system includes an Epson cash drawer and Epson sales-receipt printer. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Scanacan for Windowsrequires Windows 95/98/ME/NT; Scanacan Professional requires Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP; and Scanacan Plus Deluxe runs in a DOS box under Windows 95/98/ME/2000. OPTIONS: Bar code scanner, cash drawer and receipt printer, pre-printed bar code labels, and clothing labels are available separately.
