FLIPPERPORT

FlipperPort consists of two main components: a high resolution color camera that captures the image, and a pair of lightweight glasses that display the magnified image for the user. The glasses provide a bright, crisp image without reflection or glare. The user can control the level of brightness. The image is displayed in full color with a magnification range of 6 to 30 times original size for near objects and 1 to 12 times original size for distance viewing. The rotating digital camera captures and enlarges the image in any position with automatic focus. Users can select between three different contrast options and control the level of magnification with the turn of a knob. The system is self-contained, portable, and easy to use. The user simply wears the glasses and points the camera. No assembly is required. This magnifier is composed of a hand-held digital magnifier attached to a pair of electronic glasses with built-in screens on which the user can see magnified images up to 28 times the size of the original. The user places the magnifier on a curved or flat surface and then views a virtual image on the glasses. This magnifier can be used to read labels on cans and medicine bottles as well as books, newspapers, and magazines. Users can control the level of magnification and brightness, and select between three different viewing modes (standard, high contrast positive, and high contrast negative). The system comes with a tracking tool called MaxTrak that helps guide the user to read straight across a page. Maxport includes a sturdy, weather-resistant carrying case. POWER: Uses rechargeable battery (included, with battery charger) or alternating current (AC) adapter (included); the battery allows three hours of continuous operation when charged. TRAVELMATE

This video magnifier has a rotating autofocus camera with several mounting options. It comes with an X/Y reading table, a flex arm with a clamp mount, and a portable TravelViewer rolling stand. The camera has a quick release mechanism so it can be removed from one mount and attached to another. Monitor options include a television, computer, laptop, LCD (liquid crystal display), or head mounted glasses (not included). The camera unit can also be held in the user's hand. The rotating camera has autofocus and can be used for both near and distant viewing. It magnifies from four to 60 times on a 20-inch TV, or four to 90 times with rolling stand, and magnifies up to 24 times when used for distance viewing (two-inch tall letters are 2.75 inches at a 20 foot distance). The magnifier has four controls (power, mode, contrast, zoom), with advanced modes including line markers, manual focus override, lighting adjustment, electronic media mode, variable contrast control, and mode and mid magnification memory. Objects and text can be viewed in color, black and white, and inverse modes. The magnifier comes with a carrying bag.
