  1. MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY

    Mobile Accessibility is a voice output cell phone program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software provides recorded prompts and synthesized speech output for cell phone functions, including receiving, reading, and sending SMS and multimedia (MMS) messages; adding, removing, and updating contact list entries; Caller ID; call logs such as calls received, missing calls, and numbers dialed; alarm configuration; and reading of the battery level and network signal strength. The software starts automatically when the cell phone is switched on. It uses SVOX's speech synthesizer, and is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Norwegian. Supported cell phones include Nokia 3620, Nokia 3650, Nokia 3660, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6670, Nokia 7610, Nokia 7650, Nokia N Gage, Nokia N Gage QD, and Siemens SX1.

  2. MOBILE COLOR RECOGNIZER AND LIGHT DETECTOR

    The Mobile Color Recognizer and Light Detector (MCR) is a light detection and color identification program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software works with Mobile Speak and Mobile Accessibility cell phone display readers (see separate entries) to enable a camera phone to function as a color identifier and light detector. It works with almost all Symbian series 60 phones. With this software, the phone can be used to determine the color (or different colors) of an object and the level of light. The program can also detect multiple colors and describe the location of different colors in a multi-color object (for example, "top green, left light blue"). The colors which can be identified are white, gray, black, yellow, orange, pink, red, green, blue, brown, and purple, as well as light and dark tones of these colors. The software can detect four different levels of light: bright, normal, dim, and dark. To use the identifier, the user points the camera on an object and the software will tell the color and / or the light level.   3. MOBILE DAISY PLAYER

    Mobile Daisy Player is a digital talking book player program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software allows a Symbian-based mobile phone to function as a voice output electronic book reader for books in the standard DAISY format, including audio, text-only, or mixed formats. It supports DAISY navigation and allows the user to assign bookmarks and select and install smaller portions of large books.

  4. MOBILE GEO

    Mobile Geo is a voice output electronic mobility aid designed for use by individuals who are blind or who have low vision. This navigation software works with Windows Mobile-based Smartphones, Pocket PC phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs). Mobile Geo also seamlessly integrates with Code Factory's cell phone screen readers, Mobile Speak for Pocket PCs and Mobile Speak for Windows Mobile Smartphones (sold separately, see entries). This software enables the user to pinpoint his/her location, learn about the points of interest (POIs) in the immediate vicinity, plan a route between specified points of origin and destination, and get instructions on maneuvers to make as well as information about waypoints along a route being followed. It is available with map data and POI files for additional countries, including the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, and Greece. (Maps for other countries may also be made available upon request.) The first screen of the application always displays the most important information including GPS status, current position and heading, upcoming waypoints, approaching turns, and active modes. GPS status shows the GPS signal quality, accuracy scale, and the number of satellites that the GPS receiver is currently tracking It functions with speech output from various text-to-speech engines developed by providers such as Fonix, Loquendo, and Acapela. It is, therefore, able to speak more than 20 languages. This software works with external Bluetooth GPS receivers as well as the built-in GPS receivers present in some mobile devices. It can be used with the speech output routed to a Bluetooth headset. Application commands can be performed using numeric or QWERTY keyboards integrated with the device, the Pocket PC touch screen, or an external keyboard. The software will continue to run even when the application is minimized to the background, allowing the user to check email, browse the internet, read books, listen to music, etc., while still receiving information about the active route. The most important functions can be accessed using commands that may be performed even when focus is in another application or screen not related to Mobile Geo. It can be used with more than 20 different Braille devices for input and output. This software is activated using Code Factory's User-Centered Licensing system, which allows the user to ransfer the product license from one mobile device to another of the same platform type and version. COMPATIBILITY: Windows Mobile-based Smartphones, Pocket PC phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Versions 5.0, 6.0, or 6.1 of the Windows Mobile operating system.

  5. MOBILE KEYPAD

    Mobile Keypad is an e-mail program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This program allows the user to write and send e-mail on a cell phone using a computer keyboard. This software application works with Mobile Speak and Mobile Magnifier cell phone access programs (see separate entries). It allows the user to control the phone and type SMS messages and e-mails from a desktop keyboard. The program is installed on both the cell phone and the desktop computer, which communicate via a Bluetooth connection. Anything typed on the program's desktop window is automatically sent to the cell phone. While the computer communicates with the cell phone, Mobile Speak continues to work, thus providing speech output. The program also provides access from the desktop keyboard to Mobile Speak's function keys, as well as the phone's special keys, such as the arrows, dial and hang up keys, and menu key. Supported cell phones include the Nokia 3650, Nokia 3660, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6670, Nokia 7610, Nokia 7650, Nokia N70, Nokia N-Gage, Nokia N-Gage QD, Siemens SX-1, Panasonic X700, and Panasonic X701.

    Mobile Magnifier is a cell phone display magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision or seniors. It enlarges and enhances all items of the cell phone display, automatically detecting and magnifying the area of interest as the user navigates through the cell phone’s user interface. Features include hot keys that provide access to the most common features of the Magnifier and an auto zoom function. Different areas of display can be zoomed. Mobile Magnifier can be configured to start automatically when the phone is switched on.     Mobile Magnifier Pocket is a screen magnification program and cell phone display magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. This full-screen magnification software enlarges text and images displayed on the screen of phones and Pocket PCs that use the Windows Mobile platform. It enlarges and enhances all items of the display, automatically detecting and magnifying areas of interest as the user navigates through the device’s user interface. It has zoom levels from 1.5x to 16x, with font and graphic smoothing and the choice of several color schemes. The user can manually zoom in with a lens-like focus on any part of the display, or explore the magnified screen through automatic text panning, or switch between several layouts of magnification windows that show different areas of interest on the screen. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Pocket PC phones or handheld computers (PDAs). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows Mobile 5.0 or Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

    Mobile Speak is a cell phone screen reader designed for use by individuals who are blind or who have low vision. This screen reader provides speech feedback for navigating through the phone's user interface, and allows access to all of the phone's applications, including third-party applications that are not part of the standard software supplied with the phone. This screen reader comes bundled with other cell phone applications software, such as Code Factory's accessible calculator, an accessible sound recorder, a game, a MP3 player, and FExplorer, a file-system browser. Available languages include American and British English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Arabic, Turkish, Polish, and Chinese. This screen reader works with the Symbian operating system and is carrier-independent. Applications that can be accessed with this software include, but are not limited to, Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, File Explorer, Pocket Internet Explorer, Messaging for both SMS and e-mail, Pocket MSN Messenger, PPC Phone application, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes, and Windows Media Player. COMPATIBILITY: For use with Pocket PC or GSM or CDMA cell phones. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Pocket PC or Pocket PC Phone edition of the Windows Mobile operating system.

    Mobile Speak SmartPhone is a screen reader for SmartPhones powered by the Windows Mobile platform, designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software provides voice access to SmartPhone features. The user can choose from several text-to-speech voices in more than 15 supported languages. Supported features include call lists, phone profiles, schedules, contacts, SMS and email, Internet browsing, media files, voice notes, changing all device settings, synchronize data with a PC via ActiveSync, connecting to other devices, and running third-party applications. COMPATIBILITY: For use on SmartPhones from Cingular, Dopod International, High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC), i-Mate, Motorola, O2 PLC, Orange, Qtek, T-Mobile, Verizon, or Vodafone. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows Mobile 5.0 SmartPhone edition operating system or later versions; at least 32 megabytes (MB) RAM; 2 to 20 MB of storage memory depending on the text-to-speech engine used; and the ability to connect via USB or Bluetooth to a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer with the latest version of Microsoft ActiveSync correctly installed. An external storage cord is strongly recommended.
