The water workout presented on this video is a non-rebounding, low-impact workout that features muscle-specific, precise movements through a full range of motion. Variations provide an intense workout by progressively adding more force and power to each move. The program helps to improve strength, posture, and cardiovascular fitness without any splash or rebound. The workout includes: warm-up; demonstration of five essential arm patterns; cardio workout with nine routines; and cool down, with stretching and relaxation exercises. This VHS-NTSC format video is 40 minutes long. OPTIONS: Audio cassette with music to accompany exercise.

On this 34-minute DVD, certified exercise trainer Estelle Underwood presents an exercise program to help prevent osteoporosis and treat low bone mass (osteopenia). The program strengthens bones and muscles, including the core muscles of the body; enhances balance and flexibility; and helps correct common postural problems. The precise and clear instruction utilizes breathing to develop awareness and concentration. The DVD concludes with information on osteoporosis and keys to prevention and treatment by Andreas Subadya, MD, an osteoporosis expert. Equipment needed includes 1 to 5 pound hand and ankle weights and a 55- to 65-centimeter physioball.

    Gentle Fitness is an exercise DVD designed for use by persons with limited energy or strength or with mobility disabilities. Hosted by Catherine MacRae, the gentle workout is designed to ease pain and increase stamina, flexibility, mental alertness and daily function. The 90-minute DVD offers six routines blending Yoga, Tai Chi, and Feldenkrais movement awareness (four sitting, one standing, and one lying down routine), and comes with a 20-page exercise guide.

Featuring experienced instructor, 72-year-old Pat Laster, this 60-minute tape demonstrates Yoga, Tai Chi, Shiatsu, do-in breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques. The tape is in VHS format.

The workout can be performed seated or standing and includes a gentle warm-up; movements to improve range of motion; deep breathing and relaxation; focus on hands, wrists and fingers; invigorating massage to increase circulation; and a relaxing stretch.

    The Senior Splash Audio CD is an audio aquatic exercise program designed for use by individuals with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other physical disabilities, or who are recovering from an injury. This audio recording comprises two CDs: One presents motivating instrumental music setting the tempo and atmosphere for a water workout; the second contains music with precise vocal cueing. The recordings total 49 minutes.

This one hour video in DVD or VHS format video presents a comprehensive bone loading program with weight bearing and weight resistance exercises to help bones become denser. The program is for the whole body, with special emphasis on the areas at risk for osteoporotic fracture: the spine, thighbone at the hip, and forearm at the wrist. Presented by Mirabai Holland, M.F.A., the workout is divided into six color-coded sections. An informational section on bones and osteoporosis is also included.
