The Health Watch Personal Response System, model HW9000, is an emergency alert system with monitoring service designed for use by seniors or individuals with disabilities who are at risk for medical emergencies. The system includes a base unit and a personal transmitter pendant ("Amie") with a button that the user presses in case of an emergency to contact a monitoring center. The compact, waterproof transmitter is worn on a soft neck cord or on the wrist. When activated, a red light near the call button glows for a few seconds to confirm that a signal was sent. Standard features include an automatic daily system self-test and continuous pendant self-check; voice prompts in English or Spanish for system troubleshooting; the ability to store up to six messages or medication reminders; and phone line seizure that allows the system to take control of the phone system to contact the response center. OPTIONS: Belt-clip fall detector that automatically contacts the response center, motion detector, and wellness check-in (inactivity clock that alerts the response center automatically if the user misses a preset check-in time). POWER: Uses household current or backup battery (included).
