  1. SMART PYRAMID & COMPAS Picture of SMART PYRAMID & COMPAS

Smart Pyramid and Compas together form a computerized gait analysis and alignment tool designed for use by individuals with lower extremity amputation. The system consist of hardware with embedded sensors (Smart Pyramid) that is integrated into the leg prosthesis, with an attached adaptor that uses Bluetooth to communicate wirelessly with automatic gait analysis software (Compas) on a personal computer (PC) or personal digital assistant (PDA). The adaptor attaches to any socket using the Euro four-hole pattern or via an integrated tube clamp. Dynamic forces and balance are measured continuously while the user is standing or walking, indoors or outdoors, on any terrain. The software automatically interprets data from these kinetic measurements, and presents concise feedback with recommendations for adjusting the pyramid screws to optimize sagittal and coronal plane alignment.

  2. STEPWATCH Picture of STEPWATCH

The StepWatch is a gait analysis system designed for use by frail seniors or individuals with post-surgical mobility limitations, neurological disabilities, or stroke. The system includes one or more monitor units and a docking/software package (sold separately). Worn around the ankle, the monitor unit monitors and records continuously the number of steps per time interval over extended monitoring periods. The monitor unit can store step data for up to two months at one-minute intervals before requiring data to be downloaded. The time-sequenced data, along with the software platform, allow patterns of activity and rest to be visualized in detail, providing clinicians and therapists an objective means to measure outcomes, document physical activity, assess function, track progress, and determine compliance. Researchers can use the system to compare therapeutic interventions. Each ankle unit comes with three elastic Velcro attachment straps (one of each size). The docking/software package includes a docking station, USB cable, StepWatch 3.1 software license, and one year of technical support. OPTIONS: Additional Velcro straps and cotton lycra cuffs for individuals with sensitive skin. SIZES: Elastic Velcro straps come in small, medium, or large. The cuffs come in extra small, small, medium, large, or extra large.
