  1. IDEEA Picture of IDEEA

    The IDEEA (Intelligent Device for Energy Expenditure & Activity) is an electronic motion evaluation system designed for use in gait analysis and physical activity monitoring. This portable system provides physical activity assessment, portable gait analysis, energy expenditure estimation, and functional capacity evaluation. It automatically recognizes more than 40 types of posture and gait, with 97 percent accuracy. Performance, functional capacity and body motion can be recorded, with detailed information on type, duration, frequency and intensity of physical activity and estimated energy expenditure. Data can be presented in raw curves, charts, tables, histograms, and statistics. The system includes a recorder and five sets of sensors, with each set capable of measuring angles of body segments and movement (acceleration) in two orthogonal directions. The system also comes with software for downloading data to a personal computer (PC), with connector cables for PC serial and USB ports. POWER: Recorder uses one double-A alkaline battery. DIMENSIONS: Recorder unit is 2.75 x 2.2 x 0.71 inches and the sensor is 18 x 15 x 3 millimeters. WEIGHT: Recorder weighs 59 grams including battery; the sensor weighs 2 grams.
