The Digipad-II Gold Series Console is a driving control system designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. It allows operation of secondary control functions through one touchpad, consisting of an LCD (liquid crystal display) screen surrounded by multi-function keys, which interfaces with the vehicle through a central processsing unit (CPU). The LCD screen displays active functions and the main vehicle battery voltage. An array of lighted indicators verify proper relay operation and aid in troubleshooting problems. A theft-deterrent security code is required to start the vehicle. This console system is compatible with Smart Shift, Digitone, and Digivoice (see separate entries), and is available for the Ford E-Series and Windstar vehicles, a variety of General Motors vans, and the multiplexing technology of Chrysler minivans.
