Picture of SARA SCANNING AND READING APPLIANCE Sara (Scanning and Reading Appliance) is a voice output reading machine designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. Printed material placed on the scanning area is scanned and then read aloud in a variety of user-selectable voices. Users can pause, fast forward, rewind, or have words spelled out, and the device can be connected to a computer monitor to display the text in large print. The device also plays the audio elements of DAISY formatted digital talking books, and comes with a library of 40 popular public domain books in DAISY format.
