HURRICANE (MODEL PMV5001)
The Hurricane, model PMV5001, is an all-terrain four-wheeled scooter designed for outdoor use by people with physical disabilities or limited mobility. Standard features include a fully- directional light package, a rear view mirror, and a front basket. FRAME (LxW): 52 x 24 inches with a turning radius of 65 inches. The wheel base is 37 inches. The ground clearance is 4 inches. Rear anti-tips are included. The scooter disassembles without tools into seven pieces for transport and storage. The body has fenders and a covered battery area and is available in viper blue or candy apple red. CONTROLS: Finger-tip controls are located on the adjustable tiller with an on/off key. RWD: 24-volt DC rear-wheel drive transaxle. SEAT (WxD): 18 x 18 inches. A reclining high-back seat with adjustable headrest is standard. The seat height is 20.5 inches without the headrest and 27 to 29 inches with the headrest. The seat slides forward and back and can be adjusted vertically. A power elevating seat is optional. The seat-to-deck height is 16.5 to 19.5 inches, and the seat-to-ground height is 23 to 26 inches. UPHOLSTERY: Vinyl or fabric in charcoal gray, black, or brown. ARMRESTS: Flip-up, padded armrests. BRAKES: Electronic brakes and rear brake are standard. WHEELS: Four 4 x 13 inch wheels with gray pneumatic tires. OPTIONS: Rear basket; safety flag; dust cover. POWER: Uses two 12-volt deep-cycle batteries (not included); sizes NF-22 or U-1. AGM or gel cell types are recommended. A 5-amp on-board battery charger is included. SPEEDS: Maximum forward speed of 9 miles per hour with a range of up to 30 miles. Reverse speed is 60 percent of the forward speed. The unit includes an electronic speed control. CAPACITY: 400 pounds. WEIGHT: 285 pounds including batteries; 209 pounds without batteries. The front and rear sections each weighs 82 pounds. WARRANTY: Three-year limited warranty.
