Picture of LIFECALL PERSONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM The LifeCall Personal Emergency Response System is an emergency alert system with monitoring service designed for use by seniors or individuals with disabilities who are at risk for medical emergencies. The system includes a pendant worn around the neck or wrist. Whenever the user needs help, touching the button on the pendant sends a signal to a voice communicator connected to the home telephone line, which transmits the signal to a trained professional at a 24-hour Emergency Response Centre. The two-way voice communicator allows the user and the emergency responder to hear each other. The Response Centre team assesses the situation and dispatches needed help, whether a family member, a neighbor, paramedics, police, or fire fighters. The voice communicator is installed like an answering machine. It plugs into a phone jack and the phone plugs into the receiver. POWER: The pendant uses a battery with five-year battery life; the base unit uses household current with battery backup.

Notes: This system is available only to customers in Canada. ** LifeCall equipment is owned and maintained by LifeCall. The user pays a monthly monitoring fee, for a minimum initial period of three months. After the initial period, service is month-to-month with a 30-day notice to cancel service.
