Picture of PACESAVER SCOUT BOSS 4.5 CC / SS The PaceSaver Scout BOSS 4.5 CC/SS is a rigid heavy-duty powered wheelchair designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 36 to 39 x 44 x 25.5 inches. The turning radius is 24.4 inches, and the maximum curb height climbed is 2.5 inches. The ground clearance is 3 inches. The chair disassembles for transport. This chair features a heavy-duty steel frame with independent coil-spring suspension and includes height-adjustable, rigid front anti-tippers; Stanza Power Anti-Tips are optional. The seat frame is black and the base is available in ocean blue, candy apple red, or midnight black. CONTROLS: Integrated programmable Shark 150-amp joystick controller. A swing-away controller mount is optional. MWD: Mid-wheel drive with two matched RPM high torque motors. SEAT (LxW): 18 to 21 x 18 to 24 inches for the standard Admiral's seat. The seat back reclines and folds for transport. The floor-to-seat height is 19 to 22 inches. The seat-to-footrest height is 11 to 18 inches. The seat is attached using a 4-point mount system. Optional seats include the Com-For-Back Seat and a rehab (cane) seat. Other seating options include an adjustable headrest, headrest extension, power seat lift, and specialized seating components with the rehab (cane) seat. UPHOLSTERY: Available in a choice of black or gray velvet or charcoal or gray vinyl. ARMRESTS: Removable padded armrests are height-, depth-, and angle-adjustable. BRAKES: Regenerative, dynamic and disc parking brakes are standard. CASTERS: 8 x 2 inch rear caster wheels with solid tires. Each caster rotates on an articulating arm. WHEELS: 14 x 3 inch middle drive wheels with pneumatic tires; flat free tires are optional. Also standard are 5-inch front anti-tip wheels with solid tires. FOOTRESTS: An angle-adjustable front one-piece footplate is standard. The footplate height from the floor is adjustable from 3 to 5 inches. Elevating leg rests, swing-away detachable footrests, heel straps, and elevating leg rest buttons are optional. OPTIONS: Front bag, saddle bag, folding basket, cane holder, cup holder, flag, and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two Group 22 or 24 sealed batteries (not included). A carry-on 24 volt, 8-amp constant current charger is standard. SPEEDS: 5 miles per hour for a range of 20 to 25 miles per charge. Maximum incline is 9 degrees on hard surfaces and 5 degrees on soft surfaces. CAPACITY: 450 pounds. WEIGHT: 281.5 pounds. The heaviest single component is 103.5 pounds with pneumatic tires and 115.5 pounds with optional foam-filled tires. WARRANTY: Lifetime limited warranty on the frame and a 2-year limited warranty on electronics and the motor and gearbox assemblies.
