(Verified 11/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The PaceSaver Scout Boss V is a rigid heavy-duty powered wheelchair designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 42 to 44 x 49 x 28.5 inches. The turning radius is 27 inches. The ground clearance is 3 inches. The rigid power base frame and seat separate into 4 components (not including batteries) for transport. The Scout Boss V includes front anti-tippers and features a heavy-duty steel frame with independent coil spring suspension. The seat frame is black and the base is available in ocean blue, candy apple red or midnight black. CONTROLS: Integrated programmable Shark 75 amp joystick controller. A swing-away controller mount is optional. FWD: Front-wheel drive with two matched RPM high torque motors. SEAT (LxW): 19.5, 21, or 22.5 x 24, 26, 28, or 30 inches for the standard Com-for-Back seat. The back height is 22 or 25 inches (5 or 8 inches posterior space). The seat back angle adjusts 20 degrees (16 degrees posterior and 4 degrees anterior), and the back folds for transport. The floor-to-seat height is 19.3 to 21.3 inches. The seat is attached using a 4-point mount system. Optional seats include the 50-degree reclining Admirals Seat and a rehab (cane) seat. Other seating options include an adjustable headrest, a 5-inch power seat lift, and specialized seating components with the rehab (cane) seat. UPHOLSTERY: Available in a choice of black, gray, or crimson fabric or charcoal, gray, or tan upholstery. ARMRESTS: 3 x 14 inch removable padded armrests are height-, depth- and angle-adjustable. The inside width of the armrests adjusts from 22 to 30 inches; the outside width adjusts from 28.5 to 36 inches. BRAKES: Regenerative, dynamic and disc parking brakes are standard. CASTERS: 9 x 2.5 inch rear caster wheels with flat free tires; pneumatic tires are optional. Each caster rotates on an articulating arm. WHEELS: 12 x 3 inch middle drive wheels with flat free tires; pneumatic tires are optional. The chair is also equipped with 5-inch front anti-tip wheels with solid tires. FOOTRESTS: Angle-adjustable front one-piece footplate. The footplate’s height from the floor is adjustable from 3 to 5 inches. Elevating legrests and swing-away detachable footrests are optional. OPTIONS: Front bag; saddle bag; folding basket; cane holder; cup holder; and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two Group 24 sealed batteries (not included). A carry-on 24 volt, 8 amp constant current charger is standard. SPEEDS: 4.6 miles per hour for a range of 18 to 20 miles per charge. Maximum incline on hard surfaces is 7 degrees; on soft surfaces is 5 degrees. CAPACITY: 500 pounds. WEIGHT: 344.5 pounds. The heaviest single component is 146 pounds. WARRANTY: Lifetime limited on frame; 2-year limited on electronics; 2-year limited on motor and gearbox assemblies.
