Picture of RHEO KNEE The Rheo Knee is a knee prosthesis designed for use by individuals with lower extremity amputation. This knee has a microprocessor-controlled swing and stance for natural and efficient motion. High speed load cells accumulate information through the gait cycle, and this information is combined with data from the angle sensor to build up a profile of the user’s gait. Data from the sensors is received continually by a Dynamic Learning Matrix Algorithm (DLMA), which matches the live data input to stored memory of the user’s gait, analyzes changes, and instantly adapts the settings. A magnetorheological (MR) actuator changes resistance to allow for initiation of knee flexion. Through drag reduction, the prosthesis allows for more rapid foot-off velocity during pre-swing, so the pelvis remains in a more normal position for natural motion and improved walking efficiency. The unit has an aluminum frame and allows 120 degrees of knee flexion. WEIGHT: 1630 grams. WARRANTY: 36 month limited warranty, includes servicing at 15 and 30 months. CAPACITY: 220 pounds maximum.
