--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 09/2010) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Chairman Robo is a powered wheelchair designed for use by children with mobility disabilities. This chair features a powered seat to floor system which enables the user to interact at floor level with his or her peers . FRAME: This power-base chair has a non-folding steel frame.The frame is 40.5 inches long and 25 inches wide. The turning radius is 25 inches. The chair features a red power base and red accents. CONTROLS: Programmable controller, remote swing-away joystick with a choice of right or left mounting, and membrane switch for power features are standard. Center mounting, a retractable joystick, an extended holder, a programmer for the controller, and a toggle switch for power features are optional. Adapted driving controls such as a chin control, head control, and sip-and-puff are available. FWD: Front wheel drive with a low center of gravity. SEAT: Solid seat and manually adjustable backrest are standard. The seat is available in three sizes (width x depth x backrest height): small (10 x 10 x 14 inches), medium (12 x 12 x 16 inches), or large (14 x 14 x 20 inches). The seat height and depth are adjustable . A variety of options including a removable headrest, lateral supports, thigh supports, a removable abductor wedge, and a seatbelt are available. SEAT ELEVATOR: A power seat elevator is standard. CUSHION: Available. UPHOLSTERY: Leatherette is standard. ARMRESTS: Flip-up, adjustable 8-inch armrests are standard. BRAKES: Electronic. CASTERS: 2 x 8 inch rear casters are standard and double casters are available. WHEELS: 3 x 14 inch front drive wheels. FOOTRESTS: Calf supports and a one-piece footplate is standard. OPTIONS: Attendant control, lights and horn, and lap tray. POWER: Uses two group 24 gel batteries. The charger is included. SPEEDS: A speed limiter dial is standard. Programmable electronics allow rates of acceleration, deceleration, and forward, reverse and turning speeds to be programmed. Maximum forward speed is 5 miles per hour and the range per charge is 18 to 24 miles . CAPACITY: 85 pounds. WEIGHT: 265 pounds without batteries. WARRANTY: Lifetime warranty on chassis and a two-year warranty on electronics.
