(Verified 12/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Big Keys, formerly known as Kid Keys, is a modified keyboard designed to assist children with limited manual dexterity or low vision to locate and hit the keys, and children with or without disabilities between the ages of 2 and 7 years to reinforce learning the alphabet and numbers. This keyboard features brightly colored, 1-inch square keys with enlarged black labels. The keys are color coded to coincide with the letters; all the vowels in yellow, "R" in red, and "G" in green, etc. This accelerates recognition of letters and the child's progress in learining to read. The arrow keys are also enlarged and the four keys are configured in a diamond shape which, in addition to the bold black arrows on them, contributes to indicating the direction the cursor will move. The individual click-style keys are laid out in alphabetical order and feature UV coated keycap printing. Also included on the keyboard are control keys, caps lock, tab, and delete. Instant plug-and-play technology means there is no setting up to do and the keyboard does not require special software. For further enhnacement, BIG KEYS and the standard keyboard can be plugged in simultaneously, enabling easy adult guidance as the child plays and learns. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and IBM- compatible PC/XT, PC/AT 286, 386, or 486 and Pentium computers and Macintosh. OPTIONS: An optional "co-pilot" cable is also available to allow access to the regular keyboard at the same time. DIMENSIONS: Approximately 7 x 18.75 inches. The return key is 2 inches square all other keys are 1 inch square. COLOR: Gray casing with yellow, blue, white, red, and green - letter, number, and direction keys; control keys are light gray.
