MAX 90 & SUPER 90

(Verified 7/97) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Permobil Max 90 and Super 90 powered wheelchairs are designed to provide indoor and outdoor mobility to children and adults who are paraplegic, quadraplegic or otherwise mobility-impaired. Both units may be fitted with several seats with vinyl or fabric upholstery. Among the available seats are seats sized for children and a standing seat which can bring the user to a fully reclined position or to a full upright position. Both have front wheel drive and have 24 volt motors. A dual braking system uses an active electronic braking motor and two powerful magnetic brakes. The chairs are operated by a proportional joystick control located in armrest, but the control panel can be replaced by foot, chin, sip-and-puff or head controls. Movement may be interrupted at any point. Torso, calf, and thigh supports stabilize the user. As the backrest moves, the armrests move with it allowing the user to have easy access to the control box. Seat and back dimensions are adjusted to user's specifications, there are several armrest and footrest options. DIMENSIONS: (Max 90) 13 1/2 inch front tires, 6 inch rear casters; length 42 inches; width 26 inches; seat height 18 to 20 inches; weight 253 pounds; maximum speed 3.9 miles per hour; range 20 miles. DIMENSIONS: (Super 90) 16 inch front wheels, 9 inch rear casters; length 45 inches; width 26 inches; seat height 19 to 21 inches; weight 253 pounds; maximum speed 4.5 miles per hour; range 20 miles. OPTIONS: foot, head, chin, and sip and puff controls; swing away table; lights.
