--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 11/2002) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- IBM VoiceType 2 is voice input terminal control interface. This flexible speech recognition software program is designed to provide a keyboard alternative for IBM personal computers. With VoiceType 2, a person can input text and control DOS-based applications (such as word processors, spreadsheets, and databases) simply by speaking. VoiceType 2's adaptive learning capability responds to each user's speech patterns. Multiple user speech files are supported on a single system. VoiceType 2 includes a large vocabulary that allows for up to 7000 user-specified words and commands, and an 100,000 word backup dictionary that aids in word prediction and spelling accuracy. There are built-in voice commands for controlling many popular applications and DOS, as well as on-line, voice accessible documentation. The VoiceType 2 package includes five 3.5-inch 1.44 Mb program diskettes, a User's Guide, VoiceType 2 reference card, and headset microphone. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM PC computers with a 386SX or higher microprocessor at 20 MHz or faster. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: This system does not include, but does require a minimum of 8MB of memory and 10 Mb available fixed disk space; the appropriate IBM M-Audio Capture and Playback Adapter AT bus are required and must be purchased separately.
