Picture of DIGIDRIVE II DIGITAL DRIVING SYSTEM. The Digidrive II is a digital driving control system designed for use by individuals with lower extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury. This system features a computerized single-handed control two axis joystick for control of steering, braking, and acceleration. Moving the joystick left provides left steering; moving it top the right provides right steering. The front-to-back axis controls acceleration and braking. The choice of push or pull for braking is selectable All controls such as heat, wipers, lights, etc. are installed on a pad placed directly in front of the joystick. A status module provides feedback about the operating mode and displays the function of the sensor systems. The status module also has an emergency backup button which permits manual engagement of the backup systems. All circuits are redundant within the computer module (backup systems are included). The system can sense operational irregularities in the operating perameters and automatically switch to the backup systems or they can be manually engaged by the driver. Built-in diagnostic ports enable the installer to upgrade software and print diagnostic reports. Also standard are driver training ports. These ports enable a trainer/evaluator to plug in an EMC Evaluator Panel into the control module during driver training and evaluation.
