VOICEPAL (MODEL VP-B & VP-BX)

(Verified 7/2004) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- VoicePal, models VP-B and VP-BX, is a direct selection communicator designed to record up to five messages for indivudals with developmental disabilities, cognitive deficits, speech or related disabilities. Up to five natural voice messages can be recorded and played back on the VoicePal by touching a Taction Pad (see separate entry) or any other adaptive switch. Messages can be recorded in four second intervals up to 20 seconds maximum, so the user can record five 4 second message, one 20-second message, or any other combination. VoicePal features delayed activation which requires that the external switch be held for 0, 0.5, 1, or 1.5 seconds, allowing the operator time to identify objects before actually selecting a message. The repeat message mode feature lets users choose to play messages once or repeat if the switch is held down. After ten message repeats, VoicePal will automatically shut down to save on batteries. VoicePal is available with or without a set of Taction Pads. POWER: Uses four "AA" batteries. DIMENSIONS: 4 x 6.5 x 1.8 inches. WEIGHT: Weighs 1.5 pounds.
