(Verified 10/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The HeadMouse for Portables is a head controlled optical pointing device designed to act as a mouse emulator for individuals who have physical disabilities and have no control of their upper extremities but have good head control. The HeadMouse is a wireless optical sensor which translates the movements of a user's head into directly proportional mouse movements by tracking a tiny and disposable target placed on the user's forehead or eyeglass frame. When used with an on-sceen keyboard, it can replace the functions of a conventional keyboard. HeadMouse for Portables has been optimized for use with laptop computers where the lightweight HeadMouse sensor is attached directly to the computer display. The HeadMouse is designed to completely emulate the Microsoft Mouse, IBM PS/2 Mouse USB mouse, and the Apple Macintosh Mouse. Special Smart Cables for converting to the appropriate data format are included.COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers and Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Serial port. POWER: Uses 12 or 24 Volts. Power is provided by the integrated power adapter which connects directly to wheelchiar batteries. A 7 amp-hour battery pack is also available. SIZES: The sensor is available in standard and miniature. DIMENSIONS: The standard sensor is 2.5 x 0.75 x 5 inches. The miniature sensor is 2.5 x 0.75 x 3 inches. The power adapter is 7.3 x 5.7 x 1.5 inches. The operating range is 4 to 60 inches. The standard target is 0.25 inch in diameter.
