The Student Writing Center is a writing skills training system that includes word processor and story writing programs designed to enhance writing skills for students with cognitive or physical disabilities. These programs lets students create worksheets, illustrated storybooks, newsletters, awards, bulletin board displays and more. The programs combine word processing tools with colorful graphics and page design options. They offer several fonts, type sizes, and type styles and the text automatically flows around any inserted graphic. Included with the programs are clip art library, comprehensive Teacher's Guide, scope and sequence chart, on-line and off-line activities, blackline masters and template disk with sample documents. The programs are TouchWindow (see separate entry) accessible for individuals with a physical disability. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple Macintosh or IBM and IBM-compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: For IBM-compatible computers, 386/16 megahertz (MHz) or 486/25MHz processor; Windows 3.1/95/98 operating system; 4 megabytes (MB) random access memory (RAM); 8 MB hard disk space; VGA monitor with 640 by 480 pixel, 256-color graphics; 2x CD-ROM drive; TouchWindow (optional). For Macintosh, 68030/25MHz or 68040/20MHz processor; OS 7.0-8.6 operating system; 4 MB (2.5 free) RAM; 8 MB hard disk space; black and white or color monitor; 2x CD-ROM drive; TouchWindow (optional).
