Shawn Grassley Discovers A New World Through Assistive Technology

By Williams, John M.; National Organization on Disability E-Newsletter,
Publication Date: May 2003

Article describes a man with cerebral palsy’s first experience using the orbiTouch at the Helping Hands 20th Annual Telethon in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. For the first time in his life, he was able to type his name by sliding the two domes into one of their eight respective positions to create the necessary keystrokes. The orbiTouch can give users a sense of accomplishment and independence, while providing a method of communication that can be useful in vocational and recreational settings.
