By Gardner-Fox, Dale, MS, RPT; ConnSENSE Bulletin, Vol. 4, No. 4Publication Date: October 2002
Article discusses the use of digital pictures to create motivating software for students at the Collaborative Center for Assistive Technology and Training in New Hampshire. Six applications are described: (1) making a cause and effect program using IntelliPics Studio with people familiar to the student; (2) producing a report on a local topic using a multimedia program; (3) keeping a journal or diary using pictures as the prompts; (4) recording science fair projects; (5) writing an experience-based fictional story; and (6) writing a true story. Technology tools such as Hyperstudio, Powerpoint, Clicker 4, and Speaking Dynamically Pro allow for the import of digital pictures.
