Article provides a brief overview of modern hearing aid fitting practices. The authors contend that a consistent methodology in the quality of hearing aid fittings will achieve greater patient satisfaction, resulting in reduced returns-for-credit, as well as greater marketability for hearing instruments. Basic suprathreshold testing is discussed in terms of using an audiometer and a tympanometer.
