By Myers, Edward III, JD; Arizona Technology Access Program (AzTAP)
Publication Date: 2005

Article discusses a range of potential funding sources that can help Arizona residents who are older to purchase much-needed assistive technology (AT). A number of agencies are listed, including the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, which includes a range of AT/Durable Medication Equipment and supplies, including powered wheelchairs, grab bars, hospital beds, lifts, walkers, prosthetic devices, and more. The Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) is also discussed, which is a federal agency that provides medical assistance to former servicemen and women. The VHA pays for a number of AT devices, including medical equipment, driving and transportation aids, wheelchairs, hearing aids, speech devices, and assessment services.
