BrailleNote or Pac Mate: A Matter of Personal Preference
By Rockett, Danika; Braille Monitor, Vol. 48, No. 7, pp. 501-507Publication Date: July 2005
Article draws from the experiences of several longtime members of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) to discuss the advantages of the BrailleNote and the Pac Mate notetakers. The observations are not based on theoretical or technical data, but on the reality of using a particular notetaker every day, as a number of direct testimonials and quotes from NFB members are included. The author contends that no electronic notetaker is right for everyone, and if someone is considering buying one of the devices, he or she should take the time to explore a number of options. Potential users should consider exactly how the device will be used, and should test key device features before making a decision.
