By Hoogerwerf, Evert-Jan; Bitelli, Claudio; Assistive Technology: From Virtuality to Reality, Vol. 16, No. 1, pp. 378-382
Publication Date: 2005

Paper focuses on the role of Ausiloteca in the development of assistive technology (AT) and training in the Emilia Romagna Region in Italy. Ausiloteca is an AT center that aims to defend the rights of people with disabilities and promote AT usage. The center provides independent advice, assessments by multidisciplinary teams, a wide range of AT on display, a number of research and development projects, and networking and professional development services. The center has no commercial links with AT suppliers so as to eliminate any bias toward promoting specific products. This paper was written by professionals at Ausiloteca in Bologna, Italy.
