Article discusses the Extreme 4x4 from Vestil Manufacturing, which is an indoor/outdoor powered wheelchair with a passive steering system. The Extreme 4X4 can traverse soft and uneven surfaces, and can climb four- to six-inch curbs. The occupant can take the wheelchair on sand, snow, and wet surfaces, while it fits through standard doorways and onto van lifts. The seat can be tilted and reclined, while the joystick can be moved to either handle to accommodate people who use their left or right hands. Both ball joystick and quad paddle joysticks are available.
