JAWS for Windows 3.5 Available as Download

By Closing the Gap, Vol. 19, No. 1, pp. 30-31
Publication Date: April/May 2000

Article providing information on JAWS for Windows 3.5, and its availability as a download from Henter-Joyce's Web site (http://www.hj.com). Version 3.5 of the screen reader software features support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, including the ability to read pages on the Internet without reformatting. This feature makes it similar to using a standard word processor. Version 3.5 also provides the user with access to forms found on the Internet, including a links list dialogue box. In addition to supporting all Windows applications, JAWS for Windows 3.5 supports refreshable Braille displays and the "Braille Viewer," an application that shows sighted users or trainers a textual representation on the screen of the Braille output being sent to the Braille display.
