Keys to the Kingdom

By Drill, Herbert; PN: Paraplegia News, Vol. 57, No. 6, pp. 22-23
Publication Date: June 2003

Article discussing the use of BigKeys LX from Greystone Digital by a man with a form of muscular dystrophy called Charcot Marie Tooth disease. As he became older, he began to have trouble using a keyboard. Every key on BigKeys LX measures 1 square inch, and BigKeys provides wear-resistant ultraviolet-coated keycap printing. Using special-function keys reduces the user’s keystrokes, as hotkeys accommodate one-handed operation. In contrast, the numeric keypad featured on standard keyboards is not featured on BigKeys LX. An A-B-C version of the keyboard is available, and the LX’s keys are available in bright white with black lettering; multicolored with black lettering; or black with white lettering. BigKeys is compatible with all major software products.
