Science-based Fittings: Cross-checking the Hearing Loss and Verifying the Fitting

By Crumley, Wendy, MS; Hearing Review, Vol. 14, No. 1, pp. 26-32
Publication Date: January 2007

Article looks at the use of the cross-check principle in identifying hearing loss, and then applies it to the verification of instrument fittings. This principle confirms the results of a single test by cross-checking them with an independent test measure. The cross-check principle has been sued throughout the audiological test battery and expanded upon with the introduction of new technologies, such as otoacoustic emissions.
