Device Monitors Doorbells, Phones, Smoke Detectors: Alerts Hard of Hearing Up to 2,000 Feet

By Hearing Review - The Insider,
Publication Date: March 11, 2009

Description of the Sidekick II Signature monitoring device for people with hearing impairments. Manufactured by Silent Call Communications, the device works in conjunction with any Silent Call 418 MHz transmitter. It monitors doorbells, telephones, smoke detectors, and fire alarms within 2,000 feet and alerts people with hearing problems of a visitor, phone call, or danger via a bright, flashing strobe light and an indicator panel. It is also a useful tool for sound sleepers, as its built-in alarm can be connected to the sleeper’s mattress, causing the bed to shake when the alarm goes off.
