By Geist, Bill; Sunday Morning,
Publication Date: June 21, 2009

Television newsmagazine feature covers the 32nd annual Masters of Blind Golf. The six-minute segment shows 13 top blind golfers competing in the prestigious tournament at New York’s Mt. Kisco Country Club. The rules for blind golf are the same as those of traditional golf with the exception of each golfer being teamed with a coach who guides him or her from hole to hole, assists with club selection, describes the hole and its surrounding landscape, and positions the golfer to hit the ball. The coach is described as being 65 percent of the team. The tournament benefits “Guiding Eyes for the Blind” (http://guidingeyes.org), an organization that trains and places guide dogs.
