Rifton Releases New Gait Trainer
By Rehab Management: Rehab Today,Publication Date: August 24, 2009
Article features two gait trainers for children from Rifton Equipment. (1) The Mini Pacer supports toddlers from 9 months old up to 30-plus months, with a 15- to 20-inch elbow height. Features of the Mini include an attendant bar for guiding the toddler, new hand loops, new ankle prompts and new, smaller casters. All prompts can be removed and placed on any size Pacer frame, allowing the user to grow out of one frame and use the prompts on the next frame. Rifton’s proprietary casters are multifunctional devices that allow patients and caregivers to control and monitor the speed, direction, swivel, and brakes on the gait trainers. (2) The remodeled Small Pacer gait trainer is smaller and lighter than its precursor and also incorporates the Rifton caster technology, making it easier to maneuver.
