Mobility and More: Safety Sensor

By PN: Paraplegia News, Vol. 64, No. 3, p. 34
Publication Date: March 2010

Article features the Scooter Sensor Safety, a device specially designed for mobility scooters which automatically shuts off the power to the scooter when the rider rises from the seat. The device is enclosed within the seat and hardwired into the scooter’s operational circuitry. The seat cushion contains sensors that detect body heat and/or weight. Forgetting to turn off the power and rising from the seat generates a signal that shuts off the power. The Scooter Sensor Safety can be an aftermarket accessory or built in at the time of manufacture. More information can be found at http://www.adventproduct.net/24787/default.htm.
