Animated short film offers user-centered advice for designers of assistive technology (AT). Devices featured include a voice output augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tool, an alarm clock with blinking light, a computer screen magnifier, a Braille printer, a wheelchair, and a stander. Advice for user-centered design of AT includes: (1) make it affordable, (2) allow the user to try it before buying, (3) offer choices and make it stylish, (4) put the prospective buyer in contact with other users, and (5) allow user input in the design process. The film is closed-captioned.
