ADHD Students Get Help From iPad App

By Namahoe, Kanoe; T.H.E. Journal (Technology Horizons in Education),
Publication Date: March 2, 2012

Article features an iPad application designed for adults and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Focus GPS was created to help ADHD users improve executive function and memory, concentration, and organization. The app uses memory-by-association and multiple pair comparison tools to help users work through complex thought processes. These tools were designed to help users learn how to organize unrelated complex thoughts and better manage changing priorities and tasks. The inventor of Focus GPS created the app following a stroke that impaired his executive functions, as a way to improve his memory and organizational skills. At the time the article was published, Focus GPS for iPads was to be available for download in April 2012 and for all platforms in June 2012.
